RECORDING ENGINEERING SCHOOL
Begin Your Recording Engineer Career
Learn the art of audio engineering and music production in real working studios. Our 20-week program teaches you the entire process. From mic placement, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, business and much more.
On the first day of classes, you’ll be actively moving your career forward. The Recording Engineering Course at Dark Horse Institute is small to ensure all students have ample one on one time with their instructors and studios. That means from day one, you will learn by doing.

Hands-on Program
The Audio Engineering Program is a 20-week program divided into 8 courses, including 2 real-world recording projects during which you’ll record, mix and master 6-song EPs with professional working bands. The DHI program is designed and taught with one thing in mind, your success.

Professional Instructors
Our instructors have decades of experience recording the “who’s who” of recording artists from all genres of music. They’ve worked on countless Gold, Platinum and Grammy®-nominated albums and will be sharing their tips, tricks, and tools of the trade with you firsthand.

Successful Alumni
That's the bottom line. After graduation from Dark Horse Institute, Alumni have completed projects with: will.i.am, For King And Country, Faith Hill, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen. Britney Spears, MercyMe, Phil Stacey, Mick Mars (Motley Crue) and many, many more...
You'll find our GRADUATES working with some of the most celebrated artists in the world.

Why DHI?
Hands-on from the start
On the first day of class you’ll be working in one of Dark Horse Institute’s four professional recording studios. We don’t make you spend weeks reading textbook before we let you get your hands on the gear. Classes at Dark Horse Institute are very small—never more than 13 students. That means you will learn by doing, not just watching.
